Pretty in BAFTA: The Shoes

Oh Jimmy Choo, I love you so much. Little secret — I own two pairs of Choo’s that I’ve had for about four years. I kept the boxes (they’ll be vintage when I give them to my imaginary daughter), put them in their pink velvety bag and wear them every chance I get. Jimmy Choo is to Jenni as LK Bennett is to Kate Middleton. 🙂 I was watching a friend’s two cats for a week, scored a nice gift card out of the deal and in a shocking turn of events, got my two shoes at Neiman Marcus Last Call on the cheap. It’s so much fun to find designer bargains!!

And Kate loves her Jimmy Choo’s too! As always, What Kate Wore has a fabulous run down of last night’s beautiful ensemble (and make sure you check out our takes on the dress and jewelry). But at $750, those shoes are a bit out of budget for most of us. And for those of us who can’t walk around in 5″ heels without take a J.Lo-Mom-Style tumble (E! Online’s livestream showed her taking a spill, but no one is reporting on it, which I guess is nice for J. Lo’s mom), they may not be a realistic option anyways. So let’s check out some lower-priced alternatives and some lower-heeled Jimmy Choo’s if you’re looking for a splurge:

I put up a lot of options, because — like most things Kate — it’s really hard to find an alternative look. Not shockingly, the shoe she wore last night, available at Net-A-Porter, is sold out in almost every size. I wish you luck if you’re trying to get that shoe. That said, Fall is quickly approaching, so get the Fall version of the shoe at Jimmy Choo’s Website. If you’re looking for a Jimmy Choo shoe with a shorter heel, The Perfect Evening Shoe and the India Sandal are both good options, with the India Sandal about $250 less.

If the Steve Madden Haylow shoe wasn’t in gold, that would be the shoe that most closely matches Kate’s original Jimmy Choo. If Nordstrom doesn’t have your size, it’s also available at the Steve Madden Website for the same price.  The Nine West Yasamin Sandal at DSW is a decent option if you are working with a budget; the Badgley Mischka Idol Sandal is great if you’re looking for some height; and the Zoe Cross Strap by Michael Kors at Piperlime is an okay choice, though doesn’t really match the style that well (I really wanted a fourth shoe to shoe you guys… haha).

Let me know if you find a really similar shoe though, and I’ll update the page.
